Gastric surgery is a method by which thousands of patients resort to losing weight faster. In Mexico, this kind of surgery is highly requested, mainly by patients from the United States. One of the reasons for having weight loss surgery in Mexico is the excellent quality of service and results, as well as the affordable prices that can only be obtained in Mexico.

However, many people do not know that regardless of the procedure’s success, there are factors that can delay or impair the recovery of the patient who underwent this kind of surgery.

Hard exercise

If exercise is part of your routine, you should keep this in mind. When we talk about hard exercise, we refer to any exercise that requires more significant force, especially in the abdominal area.

An example of this could be weight lifting or any other exercise that requires a similar effort. However, some activities such as walking will help you a lot to make your recovery faster, although, of course, another thing you should keep in mind is that you should avoid continuous exercise. It is essential to take breaks constantly to prevent injury, even when it is a simple walk.

After a month, which is the average recovery time for this kind of surgery, you can return to your exercise routine; remember, this is an average time, maybe your recovery will be sooner, or it will take longer, that is why you must go to your check-up appointments so that your doctor can tell you when you can resume your activities.

Drinking alcohol

Alcohol consumption is not recommended after gastric sleeve surgery. The main reason is that alcohol remains longer in the blood, which causes your recovery to be slower, and in extreme cases, it can cause intoxication. Other reasons are the excess of carbohydrates and sugars, among other variables.

Not following the diet correctly.

After gastric surgery, you must follow the diet that the nutritionist in question has given you. Besides the fact that it will help you lose weight, recovery will be much faster.

It may sound exaggerated, but the slightest change in your diet during recovery can be drastically detrimental. The consumption of sugary drinks, energy drinks, and the aforementioned alcoholic beverages are among the primary restrictions. Because your stomach has become the size of a banana, excess carbohydrates or sugar would affect your recovery.

Missing your checkups

Not attending your scheduled checkups can affect your health and prolong recovery. Some people overlook it and decide not to follow it anymore because they feel fine and begin to perform daily activities. The consequence of this is some health repercussions or weight gain.

The time of the check-ups depends significantly on the surgeon who performed the procedure. Remember that everyone is different and has a personalized treatment that suits them.

Having another gastric surgery in a short period.

Although there are other types of gastric bypass, it is advisable to attend the surgeon for an evaluation to determine whether or not you are suitable for gastric surgery. There are people who, once they have undergone surgery such as the gastric sleeve bypass, immediately want to undergo another, which is impossible since the body requires time to recover completely.

Although there are many doubts that people going to undergo bariatric surgery have, one of the most common is alcohol consumption. They fear that, after undergoing this procedure, they will no longer be able to enjoy an alcoholic beverage as they used to.

The truth is that regardless of the weight loss surgery, alcohol can be very harmful to health. That is why it is not recommended; however, as long as the proper precautions are taken, it is possible to incorporate alcohol into a healthy lifestyle. Even so, it is crucial to take the following issues into account.

Why is it wrong to drink alcohol after surgery?

It is essential to mention that after weight loss surgery Mexico. The patient begins to lose weight and feel slimmer and has a series of hormonal changes.

Changes in metabolism

After weight loss surgery, when consuming alcoholic beverages, high levels of alcohol remain in the blood, and it takes longer for the body to return to normal. Another factor to consider is that it is common to experience an accelerated absorption of alcohol into the bloodstream when consuming less food.

It is common for post-surgical patients to experience intoxication with just one drink.

Decreases blood sugar

It is expected that after weight loss, the patient experiences a drop in sugar in the blood. The problem is that consuming alcohol depletes more glycogen, so the sugar levels may decrease more than recommended, causing hypoglycemia in the patient.

Hypoglycemia can unleash other conditions in the patient that can be life-threatening or even lead to death. Loss of consciousness, brain damage, and nervousness are some of the most common symptoms of these conditions, such as loss of coordination, slurred speech, visual impairment, and confusion.

In these cases, the patient is usually recommended to consume diluted juice or glucose tablets to stabilize blood sugar. It is also recommended to consume complex carbohydrates and proteins if necessary to maintain stability.

However, it is not normal to have hypoglycemic episodes, so if they occur even without consuming alcohol, it is necessary to see a physician.

Increased Calories

Believe it or not, alcohol can cause you to gain weight because of its high calorie and low nutrient content. Drinking alcohol can be a setback for weight loss, especially if consumed often.

Developing new addictions

Unfortunately, it is very common for patients who have suffered from an addiction to be at greater risk of falling into other habits. This can happen after a gastric bypass Mexico, as patients seek to substitute food with other addictive and harmful behaviors, such as drinking alcohol or taking drugs.

Tips on how to drink alcohol in a healthy way

It is possible to drink alcoholic beverages again after weight loss surgery, but it is necessary to reintroduce them properly. This way, the healthy lifestyle that the patient acquires after the gastrointestinal bypass is not compromised.

Wait some time

It is usually recommended that patients spend the first six months after bariatric surgery without consuming any alcohol. After this time, the patient can consult with his surgeon if he can drink alcohol again since it is not recommended in all cases.

Avoid drinking just anything

If the doctor considers that the patient can drink alcohol again, it is recommended to avoid carbonated beverages. Mixed and sweetened beverages should also be avoided, and it is necessary to keep in mind that no matter how small the drink may be, it can cause intoxication.

Food in the stomach

To help slow the absorption of alcohol, it is recommended that patients drink after eating or while eating. That way, it will be easier for the body to tolerate the alcohol consumed, even if you drink small amounts.

Do not drive after drinking alcohol

It may sound very obvious, but the truth is that, as we said before, it is easier for the patient to become intoxicated by drinking alcohol after a weight loss procedure. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to avoid driving after drinking, even if it was only a tiny amount of alcohol.

Professional Help

Usually, patients desire to drink alcohol because they are looking for an alternative to cope with their emotions. That is why alcohol can be so harmful, and to avoid such situations, it is best to seek professional help.

That way, it will be much easier for the patient to face these new stages without running the risk of damaging his body due to alcohol. If you do not know who to turn to, you can consult your doctor; he will give you the help you need to find an expert who can support you.

As you can see, if you take the proper precautions, you can go back to drinking alcohol after weight loss surgery. However, the most advisable thing to do is to avoid this type of beverage, as they can cause a lot of damage, and their effects may depend on the types of gastric bypass.

Nowadays, several bariatric surgery techniques are used to fight morbid obesity issues in the population. Bariatric surgery is mainly applied to people who haven’t been able to obtain good results despite following a strict diet and exercising at least three times a week.

It is considered that several bariatric surgery procedures are necessary to lower blood glucose, blood pressure, and common ailments in patients with obesity. Unfortunately, not all insurances cover this type of surgery since they are usually considered aesthetic surgeries.

Can insurance cover weight loss surgery?

Determining whether it will be possible to cover any bariatric surgery procedures, such as the bariatric sleeve procedure, depends on several factors. Some insurances offer you this possibility as long as you meet specific requirements, and it is necessary to keep that in mind.

Some of the requirements that are commonly taken into account are the body mass index, which must be higher than 35, as well as other conditions that may be affecting the patient’s quality of life, such as diabetes mellitus and/or hypertension, in addition; the patient must be at least 18 years old.

Another important aspect is that usually, these insurances only cover some procedures such as gastric bypass and gastric sleeve. So it is necessary to speak with the surgeon to know what kind of weight loss surgery Mexico may be suitable for the patient and if your insurance can cover it.

On the other hand, it is also crucial for you to know that it is becoming more and more common for clinics to accept insurance from around the world. If you are from the USA and have insurance related to bariatric surgery procedures, you will probably not have any problem covering your expenses in Mexico.

To get a clearer idea of whether the clinic will accept the insurance, it is necessary to contact the insurance company and the doctor to clear up any doubts you may have about the eligibility of the surgery to be covered.

What are the benefits of being treated in Mexico?

Gastric bypass is a stomach surgery Mexico that eliminates approximately 85% of the excess weight that the patient has. In addition, with professional support during the whole process, patients acquire good habits that will help them achieve a better life quality in the long term.

Unfortunately, this and other procedures are usually expensive, especially in countries like the United States; however, in Mexico, there are border cities characterized by offering a wide variety of medical services, which, in addition to providing good quality, are pretty affordable.

One example of the above is the city of Tijuana, which annually receives approximately 2 million tourists. Tourists who visit the city with the idea of undergoing medical treatment because they know that most of the clinics in this city work with health professionals recognized inside and outside Mexico.

In addition, some clinics specialize in treating the issues associated with obesity, offering bariatric services tailored to each patient’s needs. In many of these clinics, the patient is provided nutritional counseling, support during the process, and personalized routines.

The most common thing is for the patient to be satisfied with the attention they receive, and the affordable prices help them to undergo surgery even if they do not have insurance. Precisely because of this, the number of people who decide to undergo treatment in Mexico is increasing.

What procedures are usually performed?

As we said before, several procedures can be performed by a bariatric surgeon in Mexico, but the most common are the following:

Gastric Sleeve
It is a minimally aggressive procedure, also known as a vertical gastrectomy. This procedure is usually recommended for patients who suffer from a severe case of obesity since weight is lost very quickly.

This technique seeks to eliminate a large part of the patient’s stomach, which is why it is an irreversible surgery.

Gastric Bypass
This is one of the most popular procedures worldwide, as it can provide many benefits if you suffer from obesity. This technique is considered mixed since it is not only restrictive but also malabsorptive.

As we mentioned before, as well as the gastric sleeve, gastric bypass is usually one of the weight loss procedures that insurances typically take into account.

Mini gastric bypass
This surgery is characterized by dividing the stomach into two pouches and bypassing the small intestine. It is also considered a mixed procedure because, in addition to limiting the intake, it alters the intestine’s absorption.

All these procedures can significantly help patients who are overweight and obese. However, it is necessary to follow the doctor’s indications. Besides, it is essential to take into account that it is an extra help to recover an adequate weight and improve health, so it is necessary to change habits.

If you are considering traveling to Mexico to undergo any of these procedures, you should know that in Baristic, we can help you. We have health professionals such as Dr. Miguel Navarro, founder, and director of the Bariatric Surgery Center Tijuana.

In addition to the support of Dr. Carlos Rodriguez, a surgeon certified by the Mexican College of Surgeons, you can receive professional attention at all times. At Baristic, we will provide you with all the information you need to start your treatment.

Every year dozens of Americans decide to go to Tijuana with the idea of having some kind of bariatric procedure like weight loss surgery. The costs that are handled in the city compared to the United States are much cheaper, and the professionalism of the surgeons is excellent.

Because it is a popular city for medical tourism, it has a wide variety of doctors, surgeons, and dentists. So, people see Tijuana as an alternative to treat any condition or improve their physical appearance. One of the procedures that have become very requested over time, is gastric bypass.

Main benefits of a gastric bypass

Sometimes several factors can influence a person to have trouble losing weight or maintaining a healthy weight. It is even common that despite exercising and reducing food intake, many people find themselves unable to reach their weight goal.

Gastric bypass Mexico is usually one of the main options to complement exercise and diet for people who are overweight. With the help of this procedure, the surgeon can help the patient reduce the risk of problems derived from obesity because the stomach size is reduced.

As long as they are performed by professionals, all weight-loss surgeries can provide several health benefits for people with obesity. Among those benefits are, remission of type 2 diabetes, decreased joint pain, reduced risks of heart disease, and improved fertility problems.

The weight that can be lost after this surgery can vary depending on many factors. However, as long as healthy habits are maintained, the changes may be noticed in the first months after surgery.

Before choosing a clinic or surgeon

Tijuana is one of the most important cities in this type of procedure, it is full of clinics that offer this kind of service. Although this may seem like an advantage when you are looking for a specialist, the truth is that it can also be confusing because there are many options and not all are good ones.

For this reason, it is important to choose only health professionals and not be guided by extremely accessible promotions or prices. No matter how small, any procedure can make a change in our health, that is why it is necessary to go to a professional clinic.

How to choose a professional clinic?

A large part of medical tourism comes from English-speaking countries such as the United States and Canada, clinics must offer their services in that language.

It does not matter if you speak English or Spanish, at any time they can answer your questions about the procedure.

Certifications

Because health is involved, it is necessary to verify that the clinic has all the quality and hygiene certifications. In addition to having the permits from the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks.

As a patient, you have every right to ask about these certifications and others, because all professional clinics must be willing to give this information.

Trained staff

In addition to the surgeon, the entire team must be qualified to take care of patients. This means that, from nurses to anesthetists, they must be 100% professional people and have the required knowledge.

Good reputation

Researching both the clinic and its surgeons can be of great help to know the reputation they have and if it is worth going with them. By hearing about other people’s experiences, it will be much easier to get an idea of whether it is what you are looking for.

Seeing the content of their social networks and their official page can make it much easier to know the quality with which the clinic works.

One of the best clinics in Tijuana

Although one of the main characteristics of Tijuana is the clinics that offer high-quality services, one of the most popular is BARISTIC. Over the years we have earned international recognition due to the high standards we have.

For us, our patients are the most important thing, that is why we offer complete care and we focus on solving the problems that are affecting their weight. At BARISTIC we are committed to each case so that the obesity treatment can be successful.

We are guided under the direction of the bariatric surgeon, Miguel Navarro, who is one of the best in Tijuana. We educate, motivate and celebrate

At BARISTIC, we will guide you before and after the surgery, for you to be able to recover faster at the appropriate facilities. You will be able to continue with your work in a short time, and of course, we will be there for you at all times to avoid any infection or complications.

We will tell you what to eat and what you should avoid for you to make good progress, plus you have the option to join our support group, where you can find other patients who, like you, seek to have a better quality of life; together you can support each other to make the recovery process much easier than it would be if you were alone.

So, you can be sure that at all times you will be cared for by professionals with extensive experience, and also graduates of the best schools in Mexico and abroad.

It is due to these characteristics that at BARISTIC we have earned recognition inside and outside of Mexico.

One of the main characteristics of bariatric surgery is that their cost can vary a lot depending on the city where it will be performed. Tijuana is one of the cities with the most affordable costs in terms of any bariatric surgery, and it also has many specialized surgeons.

However, it is common for the cost of a surgery such as a gastric sleeve surgery to become a very important factor for some patients. This can even determine whether they make the decision to have surgery or prefer to wait longer.

Is a lower price better for me?

Although in Tijuana the price of surgeries is lower than in other countries and even than in other cities of Mexico, it should not be the main factor to consider. The bariatric sleeve cost in BARISTIC is quite accessible, however we have a team of professionals who have the experience to perform these procedures. In reality, in any surgery there are always risks, and in some cases the recovery can be slow or complications may present. Therefore, it is best not to choose a surgeon based on the price they charge for the surgery. It is better to observe other characteristics in which it can be verified that we are dealing with a professional surgeon. Having the support of a bariatric surgeon like Dr. Miguel Navarro is the best way to avoid having any regrets after surgery.

Does the price determine the efficiency of the surgeon?

In reality, the skills of a surgeon cannot be determined solely by price, it is necessary to know the experience they have and their studies. Asking about his % of complications and the number of procedures he has performed, that is of great help to know if he is a good surgeon.

You can talk to the clinic staff or surgeon and see other cases where he has done the same surgery. This will allow you to make comparisons and analyze the statistics, so it will be easier to make the decision to continue with the procedure.

Can my insurance company pay for bariatric surgery?

That will depend on the type of insurance that the patient has at the moment. However, most of the time insurers do not pay for weight loss surgeries, this is due to several reasons. These kinds of expenses sometimes are not covered, since it is often thought that with the help of a nutritionist or an endocrinologist is enough to start losing weight.

Unfortunately, most of the time these options do not help solve the obesity problem, so the patient is forced to surgery, to treat the excess body weight and stop having health issues.

Accessible budgets

Most surgeons know how difficult it is for people with obesity to find the help they need. For this reason, the surgeon considers the needs of the patient, to offer the services that best suit their needs.

The priority is that the patient can improve their quality of life, and all help is offered to start with the weight loss process. The necessary check-ups are also done to ensure that his recovery goes according to plan, the surgeon will be with the patient at all times to guide him during the recovery.

What does the cost include in our clinic?

Quality. At BARISTIC we have a team of professionals dedicated to providing patients with a better quality of life. Our expert surgeon is the best in his class and is known for using the most advanced technique, so the patients can be sure that they will always have the best quality.

The best services. Our main services include the driver,  a stay in a nearby hotel and two days of hospital charges. In this way we make sure that the patient feels comfortable from the first moment.

Appointments. We know that in order for a weight loss surgery to be successful, it is also necessary for the patient to consult with experts from other areas. So, the cost of the gastric sleeve also includes 1 nutritionist appointment. The patient may also have other doctor visits, before and after the surgery.

Fee. Sometimes the patient feels unmotivated to undergo surgery, because he thinks that it will be very difficult to cover the medical fees. This does not have to be the case, on the contrary, at BARISTIC, we want the patient to not worry about money; so, our medical fees are already included in the cost of the gastric sleeve.

Why is the cost so affordable?

At BARISTIC we know the problems that exist in the world due to obesity problems, which unfortunately is increasing in countries like the United States and Mexico. That is why we seek to make the change, helping patients who cannot lose weight with traditional methods. It is important to mention that our prices are more affordable than the average cost, and we provide our patients with the best care.

We seek to provide a quality service, but at the same time to be accessible, that is why we negotiate prices. Thanks to this, we have accredited hospital facilities and a team of health professionals, including qualified nurses, nutritionists, doctors and surgeons.

The academic level of our surgeons is comparable to surgeons from countries such as the United States and Canada, so it is common for foreigners to come to our clinic to perform some weight loss surgery.

It is due to these reasons that BARISTIC is the best alternative if you want to have a bariatric procedure to start having healthy weight, of course, with the help of the best team of professionals.

Thanks to the advances of modern medicine, today there are several procedures that help people with obesity to lose weight, these procedures are often grouped under the name of “bariatric surgery”. Common procedures include gastric bypass, gastroplasty, intra-gastric balloon, adjustable gastric band, and bariatric sleeve.

Among these procedures, the bariatric sleeve has become one of the best alternatives to treat obesity problems. It is a restrictive surgery in which the size of the stomach is reduced, which ends up helping the patient to make the necessary changes in their daily intake and their nutrient absorption.

5 things you need to know about the bariatric sleeve

Although, like the other procedures, it can help the patient lose weight, this is one of the least invasive procedures comparing it to a gastric bypass. It has also become the most requested weight loss surgery, as it can be performed on most obese patients, even those who suffer from excess weight and body mass.

Recovery is faster

In the old days the recovery process after weight loss surgery used to be quite slow. Nowadays, with medical advances, this type of procedure has improved and recovery is faster, although it must be clarified that each case is different.

Even so, after performing a bariatric sleeve, there is usually a fairly short estimated recovery period. Patients usually recover from surgery between 7 and 10 days after having it, although as mentioned before, this can vary depending on each patient.

It is necessary to follow all the doctor’s indications so after the period, the patient can continue with his normal life. If all indications are not followed, the patient may be at risk for complications and his recovery will be slower than expected.

Decreases the size of the stomach

After surgery, the size of the stomach is reduced by up to 80%. The help of surgical staples is used to perform this procedure, this makes it very difficult for an abnormal enlargement of the stomach size to occur due to the excess consumption of food.

Another thing that must be taken into consideration is the quality of food, the patient must maintain a diet according to the size of his stomach. For the recovery to be totally successful, the patient will carry out a liquid diet first, then it will be switched to soft foods and finally to solid food.

There are fewer nutritional complications that the patient can have, for the same reason it is very rare that it generates other problems such as dumping syndrome. This is one of the reasons why the bariatric sleeve is commonly said to be the perfect procedure for treating severe obesity.

It is one of the safest techniques

Unlike other procedures, the bariatric sleeve is one of the safest, this is because it is done through laparoscopic surgery. To perform this technique, only 4 or 5 small cuts in the abdomen are necessary, this helps to considerably reduce the risk of surgical complications.

Another advantage of this technique is that it does not usually leave marks on the skin, because the incisions are very small and heal easily. In addition, weight loss is very fast, but it is also safe for the health of the patient and they can lose between 60% and 70% of excess fat in a short time.

Improves other health problems

It is common that when someone suffers from overweight problems, problems like heart disease appear that damage their health even more. This increases when being overweight has turned into obesity, as a series of metabolic diseases are unleashed, which further damage the patient.

Something that not many people know about weight loss surgeries is that they can help improve these medical conditions or even cure them. Surgery such as bariatric sleeve have been shown to provide a better quality of life for people with diabetes.

With its help, glucose levels in the blood are reduced and patients with this condition can have a healthy life. They are also able to reduce and control other very common problems in people who are overweight or suffering from obesity.

It is important to mention that for people who have undergone any bariatric procedure, it is important to start doing exercise programs and control their food intake.

It is a fairly accessible surgery

Weight loss surgeries are usually quite expensive depending on several factors, among those factors are the country, the clinic and the type of surgery. In cities like Tijuana where medical tourism is up-to-date, surgeries are usually much more accessible than in other cities.

At the same time and unlike other weight loss procedures, the bariatric sleeve cost is more affordable for most people. Depending on the hospital or clinic where the surgery is performed, the cost usually includes hospital, operating room, anesthesiologist and surgeon fees.

But it is also advisable to take into consideration other types of expenses that may arise if you do not live in Tijuana. Some of these expenses are accommodation and transportation, since after the surgery it will be necessary to periodically go for a check-up.

Final tips

As with all surgeries, it is necessary to see an expert to perform bariatric sleeve surgery. Not everyone is trained to perform this kind of surgery, and it can be dangerous in inexperienced hands.

The most advisable thing is to look for a specialized clinic that has the qualified personnel to be able to work properly. At Baristic, thanks to our high-quality services and the expert hands of our surgeons we are one of the most popular professional clinics in Tijuana.

With our help, dozens of people have been able to improve their quality of life, since from the beginning of their treatment we guide them in every step. Thanks to this, losing weight has become a real option for patients.

First of all, it is important to know that gastric bypass and other weight loss surgeries are known collectively as bariatric surgery, they make changes to your digestive system to help you lose weight.

Tijuana Mexico has become an important medical tourism destination, because it has many board certified bariatric surgeons that perform these surgical procedures.

Weight loss surgery has become one of the best alternatives to treat obesity along with exercise and a good diet. Although a few decades ago in Mexico there was not much talk about the subject or even in some places it was not known about its existence, today it is a well-known surgical procedure and increasingly popular for people with obesity that want a long term solution for their weight issue.

Although there are several reasons for this, one of the main ones is the fast increase in overweight and obese population in Mexico. However, not all people are candidates for this type of procedure, so it is necessary to learn more about this surgery before thinking about performing it.

There are many board certified surgeons in Mexico, who are specialized in bariatric surgery.

In the case of women who undergo this surgery and who also seek to become pregnant, they must wait at least 18 months after having performed it. It is also recommended to talk with your surgeon and OB about your pregnancy plans.

Not everyone is a candidate

Although bariatric surgery Tijuana is a popular procedure, not all patients can be candidates to perform it. To determine whether or not a patient is a candidate, several guidelines are followed with which a conclusion can be reached.

Some of the characteristics that determine if a person can have the surgery are body mass index, as well as if they have had weight loss or not, after performing specialized weight loss programs with supervision. Age and medical history are also considered, so that any inconvenience during surgery can be avoided.

Can surgery have risks?

As with any type of procedure, there are always risks, although these are different for each person. Pre-operative studies are always carried out in order to determine the patient’s health status and the way to avoid possible risks. In case the patient is in poor health, he will be advised to postpone the surgery until he is in good condition.

Weight loss also depends on the patient

The type of procedure, as well as the patient’s eating habits and exercise play a very important role during the weight loss process. For patients with adjustable gastric bands, weight loss will be a slower process during the first year than those who undergo gastric bypass usually have.

However, it is necessary to eat healthy and exercise to prevent the stomach from widening again by excess food.

After surgery

In order for your stomach and digestive system to heal properly, feeding the patient for a day or two will be avoided. In this way the chances of the wound improving quickly will be higher, after that stage the patient is given a special diet which will have to follow for a few weeks.

In the first stage of the diet, only liquids are started, after this the patient begins to consume pureed foods and, as progressing, small portions of common foods will be passed.

Medical checks

After performing the weight loss surgery, the patient must attend medical check-ups so that the doctors can monitor their health. This should be done periodically during the first months after surgery, possibly it will be asked for some studies to corroborate your health.

Depending on the case, it may be asked for laboratory tests or blood tests for proper examination.

Tips for after bariatric surgery

It is necessary to change the lifestyle. Although all weight loss surgeries can help the patient initially lose weight, they need to maintain a healthy diet and do physical activity to prevent bad habits from causing a lost weight recovery.

Changes in the body. It is very common that after losing weight quickly the patient notices excess skin, this is due to the rapid loss of fat and muscle mass. As you lose weight, dangling skin may increase, mainly in areas such as the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks.

When this happens, it is advisable to go with your doctor and talk about the several alternatives that exist in order to treat this problem. Excess skin is commonly removed through specialized surgery.

Avoid empty calories. Eliminating unhealthy foods from your refrigerator will go a long way to avoid relapsing into bad eating habits. Replacing empty calories with healthy foods will be helpful in avoiding such situations. But it is necessary to follow the diet that the doctor recommends.

Set a target. There are times when, although the patient undergoes weight surgery, his objectives are not very clear and the process to lose weight is more difficult. To prevent this from happening, it is advisable for the patient to set a healthy, realistic and desired weight as a goal so that the following months after the surgery will be easier to carry.

Don’t be embarrassed by your weight. Sometimes patients avoid medical check-ups when they start gaining weight, this is a serious mistake, if you notice an increase in weight, you should talk to the specialist. That way the doctor can give you the help you need to get back on track and continue with a healthy weight loss.

Summer, your wedding, that dress you can’t wear or a new year´s resolution, all are common reasons when it comes to getting rid of overweight. Regardless of whether you want to lose little or a lot of weight, sometimes it’s not easy to find a motivation strong enough to reach your goal.

Can we give you one? Your Health. That is the main pull. That has to be your main New Year’s resolution.

When you stabilize your weight, other positive consequences arrive — fewer chances for diseases, more energy, better self-esteem, and a higher quality of life.

On the road to a weight loss process, you may have a lot of doubts. Can I solve it only with a diet? How much exercise do I have to do? Should I buy medicine? Am I going to the nutritionist or the bariatrician?

With every new year comes a unique opportunity to make changes — a new chance to eat better, to be more active, to stay healthier. Bariatric surgery is your best option to overcome obesity and make this new year’s resolution happen.

Here is the reason why bariatric surgery is so great for your health

Obesity and overweight carry a series of physical limitations associated with a large number of social, family, and psychological problems. When you exceed your ideal weight by several pounds, your health may be at risk because overweight and obesity come along with different metabolic complications and other serious diseases.

To lose extra pounds, you can make changes in your lifestyle, including diet, exercise, or eating healthy. But if everything has failed and your health is being affected by other serious diseases as a result of obesity, you should consider bariatric surgery.

Multiple studies have shown that weight loss improves essential issues in the patient´s life as self-esteem, as well as sexual and social relationships. Also, there´s evidence that months after surgery, medical treatment for diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, or cholesterol decreases considerably and may be suspended altogether.

What comes after a weight loss surgery?

After surgery, the weight loss will be gradual. Frequently, the most significant weight loss occurs during the first months (only in the first month can go from 10 to 45 lb), and it is directly related to the changes in your diet.

As a bariatric patient, you should always have a bariatric physician on your side. Don´t settle for a doctor who puts you on a diet, seek the expert guidance of a specialized team that evaluates and follows up on your case in a comprehensive manner.

Make it happen, come to Mexico and lose weight

So, here´s our two cents on this for you. Bariatric Surgery is a real option when your health is compromised with diseases caused by overweight, and when you haven´t succeeded in losing weight with other alternatives.

Remember, your health should always come first. Bariatric surgery is a big decision, and we look forward to walking you through the whole process.

Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery

Bariatric surgery, or weight loss surgery, is a highly effective tool to improve patient’s health dramatically. We prefer to treat morbid obesity using the laparoscopic method, which requires a few less than inch incisions in the abdomen.

Laparoscopic or “minimally invasive” surgery is a specialized technique for performing surgery. Compared to traditional open surgery, patients often experience less pain, a shorter recovery, and less scarring with laparoscopic surgery.

Hi, my name is Karen. I’m 32 years old, and I want to share with you the story of my weight loss journey.

After fighting a fierce battle against the scale throughout my entire life, my weight was close to 400 pounds. I needed an insulin shot every day to control my sugar, and I also had hypertension. I was always tired, I had no energy at all, and I still turned down invitations to go out and have fun with friends.

I tried with every single diet I found on the Internet and also with some exercise routines I saw on YouTube. Sometimes I did lose weight, but soon after, I won many pounds again.

My diabetes was getting worse every day. The doctors told me several times that I had to take more care of what I ate. They gave me many medications. I felt very overwhelmed and worried about my health.

I didn’t want to keep living like this.

I felt that my youth vanished without really enjoying it. Then I started looking for new options, and so I discovered that there was a weight loss surgery called Bariatric Surgery. I searched for information about this method; I joined several Facebook groups and talked with other people who were going through the same as me.

In one of these groups, someone told me about her experience with Baristic, Bariatric Center Tijuana Mexico. I checked the information on their web page and decided to make an appointment for a personalized medical evaluation and more information about the bariatric procedure.

I met with Dr. Navarro, and he was very kind and professional all the time

With his guide, I decided that it was time to undergo weight loss procedure and that a Gastric Bypass surgery was the perfect choice for me. The bariatric surgeon explained that after the weight loss surgery, my stomach would be smaller, I would eat less, and this would help me lose weight progressively and all the benefits I could get, in this way he clarified all my concerns and answered all my questions about gastric bypass.

Now, a year and a half after having made the best decision of my life having the gastric bypass surgery, I lost almost 150 pounds.

I no longer use insulin; my blood sugar levels are fine, and diabetes has virtually disappeared.

Of course, weight loss surgery does not do magic. I also had to learn to change my eating habits and exercise again. After having experienced weight loss and achieving my goals, I now have a healthier lifestyle, and I feel great, more energetic, and happier. I want to live like this for the rest of my life.

Change your life too!

If you, like me, have gone through a big battle with being overweight, a weight loss surgery will help you to start a new life. I know this is a big decision, and Baristic Bariatric Surgery Mexico has the perfect medical facility, advanced technology, expertise, resources and medical staff for walking you through the entire process.

It worked perfect for me and for thousands of patients, so I think it can also be the solution you’ve been looking for.

Bariatric Surgeries are procedures for massive weight loss that are suitable for people who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 30 with excess weight. The two most popular Bariatric Surgery Procedures are Gastric Sleeve Surgery and Gastric Bypass Surgery.

If you would like to know what your BMI is, you can calculate it by following this link https://bariatric-surgery-tijuana.com/bariatric-surgery/body-mass-index/

First thing first

Before starting to think about a weight loss surgery, you will need a general review of your health condition and an interview with a bariatric surgeon to talk about the best medical procedure for you (gastric bypass or gastric sleeve surgery) and the reasons. Follow this link to submit your Patient Registration Form; it will take you only a few minutes https://bariatric-surgery-tijuana.com/bariatric-surgery/patient-registration-form/

Once you complete and submit your online form, Dr. Navarro will review your health history. Once the revision surgery is done, his team of experts will reach you to set up your surgery date in the Mexico bariatric center along with any recommendations for the patient safety the doctor may suggest.

With a great power comes a great responsibility

The average cost of bariatric surgery starts from USD 4,200, but your BMI (Body Mass Index) will determine the overall costs of the operation. Dr. Navarro confirmed the cost of surgery in my pre-surgical consultation and after reviewing my medical background.

What I paid included:

  • Driver services for pick up and transportation, as part of international patient safety
  • My stay at the hotel as an option for international travel
  • Two days of hospitalization in the bariatric center for care medical
  • Medical weight loss team fees
  • Individual Surgeon fees
  • Pre and post-surgery consultation for surgical care to avoid surgical complications and for follow up care and aftercare instructions
